Job Description
Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make an immediate impact this summer by supporting students as an Occupational Therapist during a dedicated summer school program. This flexible, contract opportunity near Kansas City, MO offers you the chance to work closely with students in a collaborative educational environment, focusing on enhancing their daily living, sensory, and fine motor skills. With a part-time schedule of 20-25 hours per week throughout the month of June, you'll provide essential services that ensure every student has the tools they need to participate fully in their learning experience.
Qualifications & Experience:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Current state OT license (or eligibility to obtain) Previous experience as a school-based Occupational Therapist is highly desirable Strong understanding of IEP processes and goal setting for students with diverse needs Excellent written and verbal communication for documentation and collaboration with staff, families, and students Adaptable, organized, and comfortable working in a dynamic school settingRole Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students individually or in small groups Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers and multidisciplinary teams Monitor progress and maintain clear, accurate documentation in line with school and state policies Educate families and educators on strategies and accommodations to support student development Participate in meetings to update progress and review IEP goals Enjoy the fulfillment of making a difference during summer school while benefiting from a rewarding and supportive environment.
