Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students across K-12 levels during the 2026-2027 school year as a full-time Occupational Therapist. This contract position offers the chance to make meaningful contributions throughout a district, working collaboratively with educators and families to empower young learners. You'll provide comprehensive OT services to a diverse caseload of 30-35 students, leveraging your expertise to foster student independence and participation in educational activities. Each week, you'll enjoy a consistent, 35-hour schedule, allowing you to build strong connections with students and thoughtfully monitor their progress over the school year.
Qualifications and Experience:
Hold an active New Mexico OT license Possess or obtain an NPI and Medicaid provider number Previous experience providing occupational therapy within a school setting is highly desirable Demonstrate strong communication and documentation skills Experience working with a broad K-12 population is a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver OT assessments, treatments, and interventions for K-12 students district-wide, based on IEP goals Collaborate with educators, counselors, and families to create supportive plans and monitor progress Maintain timely and accurate documentation, reporting, and billing as needed Educate staff and caregivers on implementation of OT strategies to reinforce student growth Advocate for student needs to ensure access and engagement within the school environment This assignment begins August 12, 2026 and concludes May 22, 2027, offering a unique opportunity to follow students through a complete academic cycle.
