Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Embark on a meaningful contract assignment as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) providing specialized support within an engaging school environment near Valparaiso, IN. Step into this part-time opportunity covering services both in Portage and at a dedicated SELF school location in Valparaiso, making a real impact in educational settings. Role begins May 5, 2026, and concludes June 5, 2026, offering the chance to work 14 hours per week, spread over two days. Schedules are set from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch), Monday through Friday.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Active, valid license in Occupational Therapy or as a COTA (required; please submit with your application) Previous experience working in school-based settings or with pediatric populations is strongly preferred Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with students, educators, and families Strong documentation abilities and attention to detail Ability to adapt interventions for a diverse caseload
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct therapy services and interventions for students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students' functional progress in the classroom Assess, document, and report on student needs, progress, and outcomes Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams Navigate multiple school settings and effectively manage a diverse caseload Imagine making a difference in students' lives while enjoying a focused, part-time schedule.
