Job Description

Pineland Learning Center, a K-12+ Approved Private School for Students with Disabilities in Vineland, NJ, is seeking an experienced educational leader to become our next School Principal as our longtime Principal prepares for retirement. This transition provides a unique opportunity for the selected candidate to work alongside the current Principal for the 2026-2026 school year in the capacity of Assistant Principal to ensure continuity, knowledge transfer, and a successful leadership handoff. This is a 12-month position with paid time off and is eligible to enroll in health, dental, and vision coverage effective from day one. Position Overview The Principal is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the school program, including school climate, staff supervision, instructional oversight, student and family engagement, operations, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a leader who is present, responsive, relationship-driven, and highly organized. The successful candidate must be able to lead a complex school environment while maintaining a strong focus on students, supporting staff, and partnering effectively with families and sending districts. Because family engagement is central to our program's success, we are seeking someone with the interpersonal skills to build authentic relationships with the families we serve and to engage respectfully and effectively with our diverse school community. Key Responsibilities School Leadership & Climate Lead daily school operations in a manner that promotes consistency, safety, structure, and student success. Foster a positive school culture where students and staff feel respected, supported, and accountable. Establish and reinforce clear expectations for behavior, professionalism, and schoolwide routines. Staff Supervision & Program Oversight Supervise faculty and staff through mentoring, performance evaluations, and professional development initiatives. Monitor classroom instruction and student engagement through regular walkthroughs and observations. Support staff in behavior management and instructional strategies by providing guidance and resources rooted in evidence based practices and trauma-informed care . Directly supervise the crisis intervention team and oversee the behavior management program, ensuring effective and safe implementation of interventions Family & District Partnerships Effectively engage families in achieving student success, encouraging their participation in our programs and maintaining open and constructive communication. Work collaboratively with sending districts, case managers, and outside providers. Required:
Valid New Jersey Principal Certificate or equivalent administrative certification required. Successful leadership experience in a school setting required.
Preferred:
Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) or Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) certification preferred. Experience supporting students with behavioral, emotional, or learning challenges preferred. Strong knowledge of student behavior support systems, evidence based practices, trauma-informed care, and crisis response practices. Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and build effective teams. Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills. Strong organizational ability with attention to follow-through and accountability. Commitment to equity, cultural responsiveness, family and community partnership. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in special education, particularly in an Approved Private School for Students with Disabilities (APSSD).
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
