Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Bring your expertise in school psychology to a vibrant educational environment near Sterling Heights, MI, where you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and emotional growth of students. This contract position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate closely with a team of dedicated professionals and make a lasting impact at the elementary level. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations across all grade levels, with a primary focus on elementary students. You'll work as part of a collaborative unit alongside two other school psychologists, collectively managing caseloads and responsibilities. Your daily tasks will involve observing students within school settings, providing actionable recommendations for interventions, and participating in teams dedicated to enhancing student success.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Valid School Psychologist credential or license (Michigan or eligible for reciprocity) Proven experience in school psychological evaluations, ideally at the elementary level Strong background in behavior observation, data collection, and intervention planning Collaborative mindset for working alongside school teams and other psychologists Effective communication skills for engaging with educators, parents, and students Familiarity with IEPs, student support teams, and special education procedures
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct psychoeducational assessments and interpret results for students in need Participate actively in IEP meetings and student study teams to develop targeted support strategies Observe students in classroom environments to identify needs and monitor intervention effectiveness Provide consultative support and recommendations to teachers and staff Share insights and support duties as an integrated member of the school psychology team This role offers the opportunity to work closely with passionate professionals, contribute directly to student growth, and broaden your impact within a supportive school district.
