Job Description
Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role serving a junior high school community as a school psychologist during a maternity leave coverage. This contract position near Newark, NJ, is your chance to make a meaningful difference supporting students' social, emotional, and academic well-being.
Assignment Dates:
August 25, 26, and 27, then September 1, 2026, through January 29, 2027. What you'll bring: Valid School Psychologist certification for NJ. Previous experience working with junior high or adolescent populations preferred. Familiarity with school-based assessment tools and interventions. Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, faculty, and families. Compassionate, student-centered approach to mental health, learning differences, and behavioral support. Ability to create a safe, respectful environment for diverse student needs.Key responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations and interpret assessment data to guide student support plans. Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with special education teams. Deliver counseling services, crisis intervention, and behavioral consultations. Consult with teachers and families to promote student growth and success. Support students navigating academic, emotional, and social challenges. Document services and progress in alignment with district standards.
