Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 academic year supporting elementary, middle, and high school students as a school psychologist. Working close to Norfolk, VA, you will collaborate with a passionate team committed to making a difference in students' lives. This full-time role (35-37.5 hours per week) runs from August 2026 through June 2027, providing the chance to address diverse caseloads across various age groups. If you have a preference for working with a certain age range, please indicate your preference—every effort will be made to match you with the ideal student group.
Key Qualifications:
Valid state-issued School Psychologist credential Experience working in a K-12 school setting, preferably with diverse student populations Proficient with assessments, psychoeducational evaluations, and interpreting results Extensive understanding of the IEP process and effective collaboration at multidisciplinary meetings Ability to communicate with empathy and clarity to students, families, and staff Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Comfort navigating multiple caseloads and adapting strategies as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct formal assessments and evaluations to support student learning and social-emotional development Participate in IEP meetings, offering expert insight for individualized student planning Collaborate closely with educators, administrators, and families to support students' unique needs Develop strategies and intervention plans to address academic, behavioral, and emotional challenges Maintain thorough and timely documentation compliant with regulations and district procedures
