Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a flexible, impactful contract opportunity supporting students as a School Psychologist working with a dedicated educational team. This per-evaluation, as-needed assignment runs from August 4, 2026, through June 30, 2027, covering evaluations for students across three buildings with established testing spaces. This role focuses on conducting comprehensive assessments—including for Autism and Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities (EMD)—to help inform eligibility and re-evaluation decisions. With a knowledgeable psychometrist on staff handling many of the routine assessments and the IEP system (SPED Track) in place, you'll have support and training resources available from day one.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Mississippi Teaching Certificate required before beginning evaluations Previous experience in school psychology, with an understanding of eligibility evaluations for Autism and EMD Comfortable conducting at least 4-5 evaluations per school year (minimum), with current re-evaluations identified for at least five students Skilled in generating thorough psychoeducational reports and attending IEP meetings as needed Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and multidisciplinary teams Familiarity with electronic IEP and assessment systems is a plus (training provided)
Key Responsibilities:
Complete student assessments, score and interpret results, and prepare written reports Participate in IEP meetings—preferably in person, virtual attendance possible Work closely with district psychometrist and other special education staff Maintain timely and accurate record-keeping Provide professional input on student eligibility and programming decisions Enjoy a hybrid work option: assessments are completed on site, while report writing may be done remotely for added convenience.
