W ARREN C OUNTY B OARD OF E DUCATION SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST QUALIFICATIONS
School Psychology endorsement-passed Praxis Educational Specialist Degree
REPORTS TO
Director of Special Education
JOB GOALS
To enable students to derive the fullest possible educational experience from school by promoting their sense of self and by treating any psychological or mental health problems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assesses difficulties of students who are referred through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices. Administers tests and recommends placement for all students who are referred. Helps identify within the school all types of students with disabilities Serves on school level Response to Intervention (RTI) teams. Performs rates of improvement and gap analysis during RTI data team meetings on at risk students. Maintains case records on all students who are referred. Recommends corrective procedures. Conducts individual, group, or facilitative therapy for children whose diagnosed problems would benefit from behavior modification. Confers and consults with teachers and parents whenever necessary. Consults on special educational needs of all students with disabilities. Attends case conferences on placement of individual students. Serves as a consultant on mental health topics for instructors in the school health program. Interprets the school psychological services to teachers, administrators, and parents. Prepares and submits required reports on students with disabilities and special education programs. Consults and advises to all special education classes. Cooperates with personnel of community health and social welfare agencies. Acts as liaison between the school and juvenile court. Attends staff, professional development, and interagency meetings required. Assist with in-service training of school personnel. Conducts appropriate research. Keeps abreast of new developments in the field.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lifting of objects that may exceed 40 pounds. Carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Carrying and setting up testing equipment and materials. Other physical demands may be required as needed.

Adaptability to dealing with people in a professional manner. Adaptability to making generalizations, evaluations, or decisions based on sensory or judgmental criteria.
CAPACITY AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
Specific capacities and abilities may be required of an individual in order to learn to perform a task or job duty adequately. Ability to interact with colleagues in an appropriate and professional manner.
WORK CONDITIONS
Normal working environment.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Ten month year. Salary and work year to be established by Board.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
