Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a difference every day as a dedicated school nurse supporting a student with specialized medical needs. This contract role is perfect for registered nurses (RN) or licensed practical/vocational nurses (LPN/LVN) passionate about pediatric care and eager to provide 1:1 assistance during transportation to and from school.
The schedule offers structured hours:
Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 9:00am and again from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, making this an ideal opportunity for those seeking part-time, impactful work during the school year. Compensation for this position is $50 per hour.
Key Qualifications:
Active Massachusetts RN or LPN/LVN license required Previous experience working in pediatrics, schools, or with individuals who have complex medical needs Skilled in seizure management and emergency response protocols Comfortable providing care to non-verbal, wheelchair-using students CPR and First Aid certification up to date Compassionate, patient, and skilled at building rapport with children and families
Role Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 medical care for a student during bus transportation to and from school each day Monitor, assess, and respond to seizures or other health concerns during transport Assist with mobility, transfers, and general comfort for a wheelchair-bound, non-verbal student Document all care provided and communicate pertinent information to school staff and families as needed Uphold safety standards and foster a supportive, respectful environment for the student This unique opportunity allows you to leverage your expertise in a rewarding school setting, supporting a student who relies on your knowledge and compassion to thrive.
