Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract position as a School Nurse (RN) and experience the unique spirit of Alaska while making a lasting impact on young learners' lives. This opportunity is perfect for traveling RNs who bring a passion for pediatric care and a strong commitment to supporting student health in an educational environment. The assignment runs from August 19, 2026, through May 20, 2027, providing a great balance of adventure and professional growth.
Key Qualifications:
Valid and active RN license in Alaska (AK RN License required) Previous experience in a school setting or pediatric nursing highly desirable Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and respond quickly in dynamic situations Excellent communication abilities for interacting with students, parents, and school staff Compassionate, patient-focused approach with a collaborative spirit
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality nursing care, including triage, medication administration, and health education to students Monitor and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and chronic health concerns throughout the school day Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state and district policies Promote a healthy and safe school environment by engaging in preventive health practices Work closely with educators and families to address individual student health needs Provide emergency response and assist with the development of care plans for students with special requirements Enjoy the benefits of a highly competitive pay range between $45 and $50 per hour, along with the excitement of exploring the stunning beauty of Alaska during your contract.
