Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by providing essential care as a one-on-one nurse for a student with complex medical needs. This contract opportunity is ideal for a compassionate RN or LPN/LVN seeking a role where their expertise truly matters. You'll support a student who is non-verbal, wheelchair-bound, and has a seizure disorder during daily transport to and from school.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 am-9:00 am for the morning bus ride, then resume at 2:30 pm-4:30 pm for afternoon pickup.
Key Qualifications:
Active RN or LPN/LVN license in Massachusetts Previous school nursing or pediatric experience preferred Strong background in seizure management and emergency response Comfortable assisting with non-verbal and mobility-impaired students Current CPR certification Reliable transportation to commute for split shift hours
Role Responsibilities:
Monitor the student's health and safety during bus rides Administer necessary medications or interventions if a seizure occurs Communicate any medical concerns to the appropriate school personnel and parents/guardians Support the student with transfers to and from the wheelchair as needed Ensure a calm, reassuring presence and attend to the student's individual needs throughout transport This position provides the opportunity to develop strong connections with the student and their family while playing a vital medical role.
