The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Wildlife Conservation is recruiting for a Publication Specialist 2 located in Anchorage, Juneau, or Fairbanks!
What you will be doing:
Serve as a scientific and technical reports editor for the Division of Wildlife Conservation. The incumbent will work with wildlife biologists across Alaska to ensure style, grammar, clarity, and accuracy before publishing reports on behalf of the division. Copyedit and format documents in Microsoft Word, add accessibility features in Adobe Acrobat for web publishing, and enter published reports into the division's publications database, which serves as the division's bibliography of published works. Participate as a member of the division's publications team to ensure the highest-quality publication production for members of the public. This is a unique opportunity to learn about a wide variety of Alaska's wildlife species, work with biologists who manage and research wildlife in Alaska, and train staff in topics related to scientific writing. Daily work will be conducted in a standard office environment. Sitting for long hours. Reading text on a screen for long hours.
