To qualify the GS-14 grade level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to least the GS-13 level in federal service having demonstred experience managing a broad portfolio of invasive species research and operional projects; preparing or reviewing internal funding proposals; leading new research activities; leading or serving as a team member on interdisciplinary teams tasked with invasive species projects; providing technical guidance to internal and external partners; and contributing technical expertise through participion in regional and nional committees. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through Nional Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizions (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience th transles directly to paid employment. Time-In-Grade:
Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
