Division of Historical Resources Bureau of Archaeological Research Open Competitive Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or Maritime Studies, or related field or minimum 6 years professional underwater archaeological fieldwork experience Successfully completed a scientific diving training program (AAUS or equivalent) Boat experience that includes launching, trailering, and operating vessels GIS experience
Preferences:
Knowledge of pertinent state and federal submerged cultural resource legislation Experience conducting submerged cultural resource surveys Geophysical data acquisition and analysis Regulatory experience Knowledge of the types and distribution of Florida's submerged pre-contact and historic archaeological sites Technical archaeological experience including: laboratory management, cataloging, artifact documentation Public speaking experience Vessel/equipment maintenance and repair

Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct submerged cultural resource surveys and research on state lands Engage in geophysical analysis and reporting Conduct reviews of: management plans, applications and reports Manage archaeological databases Maintenance and upkeep of BAR research vessels Perform other work-related duties as required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of Florida's submerged archaeological record Knowledge of underwater archaeological field techniques Ability to conduct underwater archaeological surveys Ability to work underwater on SCUBA Ability to travel
