The Supervisor, Cultural Programs is responsible for the professional administration of Los Luceros Historic Site in Alcalde, New Mexico. They are charged with carrying out the mission and strategic goals of the Historic Sites Division and of the Department of Cultural Affairs. The position oversees all aspects of day-to-day operations at the site including admissions, interpretive programing, fundraising, partnership development, cultural resource management, and public outreach. How does it get done? Supervise staff to ensure the professional administration of daily operations. They coordinate with local, statewide, and national partners to establish a diverse range of educational and interpretive programs for audiences of all ages and ensure the proper preservation, maintenance and stewardship of cultural resources. The position also works to fund raise through both donors and grants, while working to implement department, division, and site specific marketing strategies. Who are the customers? Minimum Qualification Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements. Employment Requirements Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Working Conditions Office setting and field work throughout the state. Extensive use of computer, as well as, hand tools.
