Historical Research Associates, Inc. ( HRA ), is seeking an Archaeologist 2 to join our collaborative team in Missoula, Montana. This hybrid role includes a minimum of two in-office days, with regular fieldwork throughout the western U.S. This position is a term-limited role scheduled to end on December 31, 2026. Depending on performance and future project needs, the position may be extended or considered for conversion to regular status; however, that extension/conversion is not guaranteed. What you'll do:
As an Archaeologist 2, you will be a field director who leads fieldwork and acts as lead author on technical reports. You will perform research, fieldwork, laboratory tasks, and writing as part of a high-performing project team. Why you'll love working at

Annual compensation:
$62,477-98,658, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Candidates who meet the minimum required experience can expect annual compensation within the mid-range of the band. Those who exceed the required experience and/or possess preferred qualifications will be considered for compensation above the mid-range. Please note that the top end of the compensation range is typically reserved for longevity-based progression.
