Supervisor Archaeological Principal Investigator

Grouse Mountain Environmental Consultants are seeking one full-time archaeological Supervisor Principal Investigator to join our team with one opening in Wyoming. In this role, you will work collaboratively with department supervisors to help develop and strengthen our cultural resources department. The successful candidate will work directly with clients in the oil and gas sector, renewable energy industry, and with state and federal agencies throughout the western United States. This position requires strong time-management skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to meet contract timelines and budgets while collaborating effectively with other Grouse Mountain team members to achieve project goals and deadlines. Salary:

$95,000-$120,000 annually. Grouse Mountain reserves the right to offer outside the stated range-based on experience, education, and other qualifications.

Responsibilities:

Interact with Grouse Mountain Project Managers, Program Leads, and project proponents to ensure project needs are being met and cultural resource applications are understood. Coordinate and develop/manage/track project scopes, budgets, and schedules. Work independently and resolve project challenges with minimal supervision. Direct junior staff and work closely with fellow employees; communicate effectively in both written and oral formats. Develop, direct, and participate in all types of archaeological investigations which may include: Conducting and managing Class I, II, and III archaeological inventories and other assigned projects Creating research designs, work plans, lead, conducting and overseeing fieldwork for pedestrian survey, shovel testing, site testing, construction monitoring projects, and overseeing data collection and compilation Preparing, reviewing, and editing cultural resource reports, cultural property forms, and eligibility evaluations regarding NRHP criteria including aspects of integrity. and treatments of project effects to cultural resources.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

(Minimum Requirements): Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field (must meet Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archeology and Historic Preservation). At least five years in Cultural Resource Management, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity, whether in the field or in the office. Report authorship and experience providing quality control review of field documents and reports produced by staff. Experience with computer-based programs such as ArcGIS Pro, Microsoft Office Suite, OneNote, and others. Ability to quickly qualify at a Principal Investigator's level for either Wyoming state and federal archaeological permits. Knowledge and experience in the High Plains and Great Basin prehistory and/or history (Wyoming) Competent knowledge of archaeological methods and theory, and applicable federal, state and local regulations and compliance requirements Experience successfully directing all phases of cultural resource investigation. Effective communication skills, both written and orally. Provide quality control for all deliverables. Ability to generate, organize, and maintain accurate records that meet state and federal standards and guidelines.
