Pay Range $62,400 - $65,000 Pay Determination Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months' salary unless otherwise specified. These position involves fundamental and applied research and advising graduate students in an interdisciplinary research team. Experience in one of the following areas is preferred: mechanical metamaterials, disordered and glassy systems, memory and physical learning in materials. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal of position in the following years, contingent upon funding availability and satisfactory performance. Job Specific Qualifications Experience in soft condensed matter and/or mechanical metamaterials. Strong research skills and experience in experimental design and data analysis. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities Developing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, writing manuscripts and publishing in peer reviewed journals.
