Full Job Description Overview:
DNA‑encoded library (DEL) and SELEX (Systematic Evolution of Ligands by EXponential enrichment) technologies are rapidly expanding drug discovery platforms within the IVBU at WuXi AppTec. These multidisciplinary platforms integrate chemistry, chemical biology, molecular biology, and informatics to enable the discovery of novel binders and lead compounds. We are seeking a motivated and technically strong Scientist II to join ourDEL/SELEX
screening team. The successful candidate will work closely with senior scientists and cross‑functional teams to execute high‑quality DEL and SELEX screening projects, analyze data, and support timely delivery of results to internal teams and external clients.Responsibilities:
Execute DEL and/or SELEX screening experiments, including sample processing and downstream analysis, under the guidance of senior scientists or project leads. Support assignedDEL/SELEX
projects by contributing to experimental planning, execution, troubleshooting, and documentation. Analyze screening data and assist in the preparation of technical reports and project summaries. Participate in internal technical discussions and project meetings; support client communications as needed. Contribute to internalDEL/SELEX
research and development activities aimed at improving screening workflows and platform performance. Maintain accurate experimental records and ensure compliance with company standards and safety guidelines. Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Experience / Education Master's or Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, chemical biology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 1-3 years of relevant industry experience, or a combination of industry and advanced academic research experience, in DEL, SELEX, or related affinity-based selection technologies. Demonstrated hands on experience in several of the following areas: Affinity based selection technologies (e.g., DEL, SELEX, mRNA display) Molecular biology techniques (e.g., molecular cloning, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis) Flow cytometry and FACS sorting Recombinant protein expression, purification, and handling In vitro assay development (biochemical and/or biophysical) Experience analyzing experimental data and summarizing results for internal stakeholders. Ability to work effectively in collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.Knowledge / Skills
/ Abilities Strong technical foundation in molecular biology and/or chemical biology techniques relevant to DEL and SELEX screening. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while seeking guidance when appropriate. Proficiency in literature review and applying scientific findings to experimental design. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast‑paced environment. Strong scientific communication skills, including data presentation and technical writing. Flexibility to adjust workload as needed to meet project timelines. Physical Requirements Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions. Must be able to work in Lab setting with exposure to Animals/biohazards / Chemicals (List specific Chemicals) Must not have animal allergies to applicable species in this facility Must be able to wear appropriate PPE Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels Ability to stand /Sit/walk for long periods of time Ability to Lift 15 lbs. routinely Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and reach Ability to push/pull 15 lbs. routinely/ often / occasionally Clarity of Vision Ability to identify and distinguish colors Must be able to perform activities involving repetitive motions, including but not limited to hand pipetting Ability to climb Ladders / Stairs / Scaffolding Ability to work in variable temperatures high to freezing Inside/outside working conditions An Equal Opportunity Employer.
