Description & Details:
This position will hire a Ph.D. scientist to participate in experimental design, student mentoring and supervision, grant and manuscript preparation, and independent grant submission. This position provides benefit to NDSU because it facilitates biomedical research productivity on NIH funded research. It also provides additional funding efforts and manuscript preparation and submissions. This will raise the research profile of NDSU. Further, this position will bring additional important structure biology, biophysics, and biochemical expertise to NDSU. It is important for continuing the research excellence in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 40 hours
Hiring Range:
$75,000-120,000 Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. and minimum of 5 years of experience in biophysics, structure biology, and biochemistry. 5+ years in protein expression and purification. 5+ years in structure biology techniques, such as X-ray crystallography and CryoEM. 5+ years in characterizing protein: protein interactions Experience with cellular assays Demonstrated ability to submit scientific publications
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Membrane proteins Demonstrated independent success in grant writing Experience with proteins involved in iron import cell surface signaling in bacteria Experience with protein involved in autophagy
