$55,112.05•$55,112.05 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a full-time research Technician B to join the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center (ADARC). The incumbent will report to the Principal Investigator. Responsibilities Assists Principal Investigators (PI) and Research Scientists in BSL-2. Provides technical support in SARS-CoV-2 and/or HIV experiments according to scientific protocols as determined by investigators. Performs virology and molecular biology assays. Processes blood specimens. Maintains the integrity of the laboratory database. Oversees the integrity of the equipment. Collaborates with the overall function of the laboratory and its workflow. Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigators and/or Research Scientists. Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics, or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Preferred Qualifications Meticulous, attention to detail and focus on accuracy. Well organized and good time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Must be able to work in an orderly manner and in accordance with all safety regulations.
