The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Type Full-Time/Regular The primary responsibility of this position is to process brain and spinal cord tissue from non-human primates as well as occasional rodent or human brain samples using histological and molecular techniques. The technician is also expected to take a lead initiating and conducting the experiments and overseeing students and other personnel in the laboratory working on similar experiments. In addition, the individual is expected to formulate procedures for independent projects that build on our current work. Most importantly the technician will also train and supervise new students and research staff in the many methodologies used in the lab and to ensure that they have an understanding of all safety protocols and follow then carefully. Additionally, the technician will assist the PI in performing clinical procedures with the non-human primates such as drawing blood and CSF samples. Finally, the technician must be able to work independently while communicating clearly and regularly with students faculty and other research staff. Required Skills Bachelor's & 1 - 3 years.
