  • Environmental Monitoring & Microbiology to support GMP manufacturing and laboratory operations.
This role is responsible for performing environmental monitoring, microbiological testing, data documentation, and quality support activities within a regulated biologics manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in GMP microbiology, aseptic technique, and environmental monitoring, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity and compliance.
Job Details Location:
Gaithersburg, MD Shift:
Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Contract Type:
6 month contract (could be extended or renewed depending on business needs)
Travel:
may need to travel from site to site (1 mile or so of each other), so reliable transportation is required
Pay Range:
Approx. $28
  • 42/hour depending on experience
Industry:
Biopharmaceuticals / Biotechnology / GMP Manufacturing Key Responsibilities Perform viable and non-viable environmental monitoring in GMP manufacturing areas Conduct water sampling and microbiological testing activities Perform aseptic testing, bioburden testing, TOC sampling, and microbial identification Support particulate profiling and growth promotion testing Accurately complete GMP documentation and data entry in compliance with ALCOA++ principles Review laboratory data for completeness and accuracy Support laboratory investigations and troubleshooting activities Assist with SOP review, revisions, and continuous improvement initiatives Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Facilities, and Maintenance teams Support operational schedules, including occasional off-hours or weekend work as needed Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related scientific field preferred OR equivalent laboratory experience in a GMP environment 1-4 years of QC microbiology or environmental monitoring experience Prior GMP experience required Experience with aseptic technique and cleanroom operations Strong documentation and data integrity skills Preferred Experience in biologics or pharmaceutical manufacturing Familiarity with environmental monitoring programs and systems Experience with microbial identification and laboratory investigations Top Skills Environmental Monitoring (EM) GMP QC Microbiology Aseptic Technique & Cleanroom Support #
