Key Responsibilities Conduct molecular biology techniques , including PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA/RNA extraction, and plasmid cloning. Assist in the genetic modification of silkworms using CRISPR, transposon-based systems (e.g., piggyBac), and other gene-editing technologies. Perform gene expression analysis and contribute to the validation of transgenic strains. Maintain and analyze transgenic silkworm populations , including screening for genetic modifications. Collaborate with team members to optimize gene expression constructs for improved silk protein production. Maintain laboratory records and prepare reports summarizing experimental findings. Ensure compliance with biosafety and laboratory protocols for handling genetically modified organisms.
