Employment Category Temporary Job Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Temporary Biological Sciences Research Technician 1 position in the Department of Horticulture at Oregon State University (OSU). Laboratory and field Assistant for bumble bee automated monitoring project. Tasks include assisting with development, assembly, and testing of automated camera systems for bumble bee monitoring - as well as deployment and maintenance of cameras in field experiments. Why OSU? Key Responsibilities 60% Assist with deployment, maintenance, and data transfer from camera traps in field. Driving is required for accessing field sites. 30% Assist with programming, testing and assembly ofputerized camera traps. 10% Other duties as assigned includingmunicating and working in groups that establish and maintain inclusive values. What We Require Two years of college-level courses in (specific field of biological science); OR an equivalentbination of training and experience. What You Will Need Two years of college-level courses in data science, biology, or ecology; OR an equivalentbination of training and experience. Familiarity and experience with Python programming. Capacity and interest to conduct field work. Experience working in groups that maintain inclusive values. This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; tfore, the incumbent must successfullyplete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
