Founded in 1996, Marek Landscaping, LLC provides sustainable design, construction, and stewardship of the land. Our focus is on natural areas management, shoreline and bluff stabilizations, and green infrastructure installation for public projects, non-profits, and private residential/commercial properties. With low-impact design methods, we use native plants and natural materials to design, construct, and support ecologically functioning systems. We are a small closely held firm with a community spirit and active culture. We want our team to grow together, and we invest in our employees' training. We're especially interested if you share our love of the outdoors, ecology, and quality workmanship along with a strong desire to make a difference. We are currently seeking Ecological Landscape Technicians to assist our Stewardship and Green Infrastructure teams in the following activities: Conduct aspects of native habitat restoration projects on residential, government owned, and commercial properties, including: Invasive Removal Planting, seeding, soil preparation. Stone and gravel installation or natural stone and paver patio/walkway installation. Erosion control material installation. Plant/tree maintenance and forest management. Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently daily. Operate or be willing to learn the proper operation of various tools and equipment: chainsaws, jackhammers, power tools, skid steers, compact excavators, tractors, and other specialized equipment. Perform maintenance on tools and equipment: inspections, lubricating and cleaning. Work independently and as part of a team, following instructions from the Construction Foreman or Stewardship Crew Leader.
Qualifications:
  • Interest in stormwater management, green infrastructure, native plants, and/or sustainable design.
  • Category 3.0, 5.0 or 6.0 Lawn and Ornamental Pesticide Applicator certification or ability to obtain certification a plus.
  • Experience operating equipment including skid steers, compact excavators, tractors, chain saws, etc. a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and clients to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to work outdoors, in all weather conditions, often on uneven ground and steep slopes, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs continuously throughout the day.
  • Current and clean Wisconsin Driver's License and CDL a plus.
