To properly support the lab's mission and funding-related obligations, the specialist needs to be expert in airway epithelial cell biology, mucus gel pathology and immunology. The specific specialist duties include the design and execution of experiments that address the lab's priorities and obligations as laid out in funded grants and contracts. These experiments are typically done in human airway biospecimens, human blood, or human airway epithelial cells in culture, and the specialist needs to be skilled in current best practice methods for imaging and quantifying proteins and genes under different experimental conditions.
