Senior Research Associate

Research Associate, Assay Development Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team, specializing in assay development with a strong focus on qPCR optimization. The candidate will primarily work at the bench, handling blood samples to perform DNA extractions, PCR, and sequencing, utilizing aseptic techniques. This role offers ample opportunities to learn and transition molecular techniques to automated processes within a dynamic biotech environment. Responsibilities Perform DNA extractions from blood samples and execute PCR and sequencing tasks. Conduct experiments and procedures in accordance with written protocols. Assist in developing and refining protocols and procedures. Document, report, and present experimental results. Follow work instructions and SOPs required by ISO quality management systems. Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and environment. Contribute to the platform integration team and collaborate cross-functionally with other teams. Essential Skills BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, Immunology, or a related field with 3 plus years of relevant experience. Proficiency in nucleic acid techniques such as DNA extraction, purification, quantification, qPCR, and PCR multiplex. Hands-on experience with molecular analysis technologies, including PCR and sequencing. Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work with human blood samples and in a BSL-2 environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications MS in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field with 1+ years of industry experience. Experience in molecular biology, sample preparation using magnetic particles, and data interpretation. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Commitment to achieving team deliverables and meeting aggressive timelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
