Job Summary PhD. candidate to assist with isotope incubation experiments, FISH-nanoSIMS analysis, and data processing for single cell isotope analysis. Candidate will also be expected to train students how to work with methane-oxidizing incubations and prepare and analyze samples on the nanoSIMS. Essential Job Duties Establish and maintain time course stable isotope probing experiments. Sample preparation for FISH-nanoSIMS analysis and troubleshooting. Fluorescence in situ hybridization analysis, sample mapping. Prepare and analyze samples on the nanoSIMS Data analysis and compilation Train students on experimental set up, sample preparation, FISH-nanoSIMS analysis data analysis Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications PhD in Environmental Science or Geobiology. Five (5) year's experience with FISH-nanoSIMS, stable isotope probing, and microbial sample preparation. Understanding of fluorescence microscopy, nanoSIMS, image data processing, and statistical analyses. Knowledge of fluorescence microscopy and FISH, anaerobic cultivation, stable isotope labeling, embedding and thin sectioning, nanoSIMS operation, nanoSIMS and microscopy data processing. Preferred Qualifications Experience with anaerobic methane oxidizing enrichment cultures, and experience conducting research at sea. Required Documents Resume. Hiring Range $59,800 to $85,900 per year The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
