The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $31.23/hr. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University. The full salary range for this position is $31.23/hr to $50.24/hr.

UC Brief Summary of Job Duties:
Collect and/or analyze geophysical and biological data; Implement field experiments, collect field data on experimental outcomes, enter into computer; Oversee undergraduate assistants with field data collection; Oversee collection of native seeds; Organize and enter data, write computer code to analyze data; Discuss results with supervisors; Read relevant literature and place work in context
Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Ecology 1-3 Years previous related field work Must be adept with
GIS Preferred Qualifications:
Plant Ecology, basic soils knowledge, basic plant identification for region, fire ecology, plant flammability measures Able to use R, organize and enter data Tolerance of intensive field work Manage field gear

35% Implement Field Experiments
  • Layout plots, implement treatments 30% Collect Data
  • Monitor field experiments, train undergrads in data collection, organize data, enter data 10% Communicate with Supervisor
  • Discuss/Communicate results with the supervisor 10% Assess Results
  • Analyze field data, summarize, reassess what is working 10% Collect native seeds
  • Highly seasonal activity. When seeds are ready, collect and store them. 5% Work on publications and reporting
  • Assist with reporting and ultiimately publication of results
