Job Description

Are you passionate about the environment and ready to gain hands-on experience protecting Florida's natural resources? Join our team and be part of meaningful work that supports our coastal ecosystems, wildlife, and community. Must be a current College /University student pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or a related field or, a current High School student with interest in the areas above. Demonstrates reliability, professionalism, and a positive work ethic Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Comfortable working outdoors in varying environmental conditions Must possess a valid driver's license No prior experience required ; a strong willingness to learn is essential Step into a role where each day brings something new. One morning might begin before sunrise, walking the shoreline to monitor sea turtle nests as the coast comes to life. Another day could have you observing shorebirds in their natural habitat, collecting data that contributes to conservation efforts. You may find yourself assisting with fieldwork along coastal waterways, navigating through Florida's unique ecosystems, or supporting land management activities like prescribed burns. In between field days, you'll spend time organizing data, contributing to reports, and collaborating with your team to support ongoing projects. Throughout it all, you'll work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on knowledge and making a real impact. This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, values teamwork, and is excited to learn—because no two days are ever the same. Frequent exposure to Florida weather conditions , including extreme heat, humidity, sun exposure, and occasional rain Ability to work on uneven, sandy, or wet terrain , including beaches, wetlands, and wooded areas Potential exposure to insects, wildlife, and natural elements May involve early mornings, extended outdoor periods, or occasional weekend work depending on field activities Ability to walk long distances , stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and lift light equipment Work may involve proximity to waterways and coastal environments Participation in field activities such as prescribed burns may involve exposure to smoke and require adherence to safety protocols
