What You'll Do… As a Biological Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Influenza Division of the CDC by providing laboratory support as sort of a Jack-of-all trades with various tasks. Your work will contribute to the development and assessment of diagnostic methods and vaccines to improve responses to potential outbreaks. Key Responsibilities & Expected Outcomes Pick up lab supplies from DSR Respond to notifications of incoming packages from Stat lab; pick them up Unboxing and verification of inbound shipments Pre-accessioning of specimens Assisting with autoclave and other waste removal Shipment support, ensuring correct viruses are packed in each box Buffer and reagent support Transfer of materials between buildings Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities for Success Demonstrates a dedication to upholding and enhancing STI Federal's core values. Excels in a collaborative team environment, fostering positive relationships and contributing to shared goals with professionalism and mutual respect. Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Understanding of laboratory safety regulations, including CLIA, ISO, and OSHA standards. Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools. Exceptional organizational and documentation skills. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in life science, Previous laboratory experience/exposure a plus. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or related biological science. 2+ years of relevant experience, particularly in influenza research. Familiarity with advanced laboratory standards and techniques.

Compensation & Work Environment Salary Range:

$70,000 - $75,000, dependent on experience.
