Cairo, GA Pay Rate:
$37 - $39.50/hr Research Investigator to support the development of innovative cropping systems, with a focus on brassica biofuels and long-season environments in the southern United States. In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and external partners to design, execute, and analyze agronomic field trials. You will play a key role in translating research findings into practical recommendations for farmers while building strong relationships with stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to sustainable agricultural solutions and advance cutting-edge research within a collaborative and fast-paced R&D environment. Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage multi-crop, systems-level agronomic field trials in southern U.S. environments Collect, analyze, and interpret field data to support development of cropping system recommendations Collaborate with cross-functional R&D teams and external partners to advance research initiatives Build and maintain relationships with farmers, agronomists, and research collaborators Coordinate and manage experiments across multiple locations, ensuring timelines and data quality are met Communicate research findings through reports, presentations, and stakeholder engagement Conduct field activities in varying environmental conditions, including planting, monitoring, and data collection Travel as needed to support field trials and collaboration efforts Qualifications PhD or MS in Agronomy, Plant Physiology, Plant Breeding, Ecology, or a related field Experience working with multi-crop systems, preferably in southern U.S. environments or with brassica crops Strong background in field research methodologies, experimental design, and data analysis Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative research team Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal teams and external partners Strong organizational and project management skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a dynamic research environment #INDHS
