Postdoctoral Scholar University of Iowa United States, Iowa, Iowa City 5 West Jefferson Street (Show on map) Feb 24, 2026 Postdoctoral Scholar Posting ID 156362 Department Biochemistry and Molecular Biology/Carver College of Medicine Jobcode Postdoctoral Research Scholar Working Title Postdoctoral Scholar Details A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Brandon Davies, Ph.D., in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Iowa. A qualified and proficient candidate is sought to lead a project centered on the regulation of lipoprotein function by lipases and lipase regulating proteins using a combination of animal models and molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques. The lab is part of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Center and provides unique opportunities to collaborate with other researchers in the fields of metabolism, obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
Education required:
PhD degree in a biomedical-related science Required qualifications: A strong publication record and excellent references Expertise in HDL biology including HDL isolation and HDL functional tests. A strong molecular biology and biochemistry background and tissue culture skills, and experience in studying signal transduction Proficiency in both oral and written communication.
Desirable qualifications:
Some experience working with animals is preferred. Contact
