Job Description

Job Overview Join our team as an Animal Science Research Specialist and play a key role in advancing food-animal health and production through high-quality research. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to studies that support animal health products, veterinary medicine, and livestock management practices used throughout the cattle industry. The Animal Science Research Specialist will coordinate study activities, maintain accurate research records, manage schedules and timelines, and support data collection efforts in accordance with study protocols and regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented individual who enjoys working at the intersection of animal agriculture, science, and project management. The successful candidate will work closely with veterinarians, researchers, technicians, and study sponsors to ensure projects are conducted efficiently and data are collected and documented with the highest standards of integrity and quality. This position provides a unique opportunity to contribute to research that impacts cattle producers, veterinarians, and the future of animal agriculture. Duties & Responsibilities Develop and maintain study schedules, project timelines, and task tracking systems to ensure research milestones are achieved on time. Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready research records, source documentation, and study files. Collect, organize, review, and verify research data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with study protocols. Prepare and maintain study-related documentation including treatment records, clinical observations, medical notes, sample inventories, and data collection forms. Utilize Microsoft Excel and other software programs to manage data, track study progress, develop reports, and support project planning. Participate in study initiation, sponsor visits, audits, and inspections. Assist in preparing study notes, event summaries, and sponsor communications. Identify potential scheduling, logistical, or operational challenges and proactively implement solutions. Contribute to a culture of scientific integrity, teamwork, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agricultural Science, Biology, Veterinary Technology, Animal Health, or a related field. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data entry, data organization, formulas, sorting, filtering, and report generation. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professional medical and research documentation. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Demonstrated ability to maintain detailed records with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with team members. Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed. Ability to work around livestock and perform duties in both office and agricultural environments. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, Biology, Public Health, or a related field. Previous experience in animal health research, clinical research, livestock production, veterinary medicine, or agricultural operations. Experience with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), or regulated research environments. Experience working with beef cattle, dairy cattle, feedlot cattle, or other food-animal species. Desired Attributes Highly organized, self-motivated, and dependable. Pay:
$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
