Job Description

The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard is seeking a talented and motivated Computational Scientist to join Broad Scalable Services. In this role, you will be at the forefront of translating cutting-edge genomic research into robust, scalable products that empower the global scientific community. As part of Broad Scalable Services, you will bridge the gap between initial research discovery and production-level computational pipelines. While the initial focus of this role will be on the development and optimization of emerging single-cell products, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to a diverse portfolio of genomic and multiomic initiatives. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain scalable computational pipelines for high-throughput genomic data, ensuring high performance and reliability. Collaborate closely with experimentalists and product development teams to define computational requirements for new genomic assays and technologies. Lead the computational analysis of complex datasets to validate product performance, identify technical artifacts, and refine analytical methods. Act as a technical bridge between research laboratories and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of biological insights into automated workflows. Requirements PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Physics or a related field. 0+ years of experience. Strong computational and data analysis skills are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to solve complex problems individually and as part of a team. Experience developing software in one or more modern programming languages.
