Job Description

Overview Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Goldbelt Apex, a part of the Healthcare Technology Transformation Group, is a data-focused company dedicated to process and quality in every aspect. As experts in healthcare IT experts, Apex is committed to building systems for healthcare organizations to seamlessly communicate and exchange data across different systems and devices.
Summary:
The Systems Biology Staff Scientist leads and supports research efforts analyzing high-dimensional omics datasets to uncover molecular and immunological mechanisms underlying infectious diseases. Supports systems biology studies on host-pathogen interactions, leveraging omics data to understand mechanisms of infection and immunity.
Responsibilities Essential Job Functions:
Conduct integrative analyses using transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics data. Design and execute experiments investigating host response to infection. Collaborate with bioinformaticians and lab scientists. Develop visualizations and models for biological pathways. Publish findings and present to stakeholders. The contractor will be expected to execute their assigned tasks, and to share their findings with other members of the project team. The Contractor is expected to write reports and publications, and present their findings in meetings.
Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
Familiarity with R, Python, or MATLAB. Understanding of immunological and molecular biology concepts. Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams. Shall be knowledgeable in a relevant field of the life sciences and have desired experience working in a research laboratory. Have demonstrated their subject matter expertise in at least one area, and their ability to conduct independent research through publication of several technical reports and/or peer-reviewed publications. Possesses good written and oral communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in systems biology, computational biology, or related field. Minimum 4+ years in systems biology, computational biology, or related discipline. Experience with large biological datasets and statistical modeling. Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance eligibility, with no access to classified information, is required. Enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.
Preferred Qualifications:
ACTIVE SECRET
is preferred Master's or Ph.D. preferred. Pay and Benefits The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $153,000 annually. At Goldbelt, we value and reward our team's dedication and hard work.
