About the opportunity This position supports the Commercial Operations team in North America to promote and sell QIAGEN instruments and chemistries within an applications lab called the QIAexperience Center. Responsibilities include performing wet lab "proof of principle" projects, product demonstrations, support customer events, troubleshooting, recommending QIAGEN solutions to meet customer needs, development of application notes/posters, and conduct internal & external product trainings. Your profile Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or equivalent. PhD or Master's degree in molecular biology or a related field highly desirable
5+ years of BSL 2 lab experience focusing on cellular, molecular, and genetic research techniques in an academic, R D, or industrial setting, prior lab management experience preferred
Responsible for the overall functioning of the lab: enforce safety rules, ordering general lab supplies, maintain the fridges/freezers and other lab equipment
Comprehensive technical knowledge and understanding of molecular biology, including DNA/RNA purification, PCR, and sequencing
Deep knowledge of wet lab molecular biology and genomics workflows is a must
Prior experience developing novel DNA/RNA extraction methods/protocols, hands-on NGS experience, prior hands-on dPCR experience preferred
Excellent communication skills and commitment to customer satisfaction, prior project management experience is highly desirable
Technical training experience and robotic programming experience highly desirable
Experience with CRM systems - prior experience w/ Salesforce highly desirable Personal requirements A customer-facing personality, including the ability to build positive relationships and engage in scientific discussions with customers
A strong desire to help customers, with the ability to understand their experimental needs, and find creative solutions for their scientific goals
Ability to think critically to troubleshoot and resolve customers' technical problems by phone, email, webinar, and in-person
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Proactive and selfdirected problemsolver that demonstrates a positive "can do" attitude
Highly organized and skilled at pulling key facts out of large, complex information sets
Team player, with the ability to collaborate and coordinate across functions, including with R D, Product Management, Operations, Customer Care, and Marketing
Ability to prioritize conflicting customer requests based on urgency and business need
Fluent in English, both oral and written - ability to speak conversational French preferred
