Job Description

Biologist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated RD Biologist with a Bachelor's Degree in Plant Biology, Plant Breeding, Microbiology, or a related field, and at least one year of laboratory experience. This position focuses on agrobacterium transformation to generate plants, as well as greenhouse experience and lab maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be team-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Familiarity with tissue culture, sterile techniques, germplasm, and agrobacterium-based corn transformation is advantageous. The role may require occasional early morning and late evening work from Monday to Friday. PAY - $24-$26/hour Responsibilities Perform agrobacterium transformation to generate plants. Maintain and manage laboratory and greenhouse environments. Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to execute tasks efficiently. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Collaborate with team members while also working independently. Occasionally work early mornings and late evenings as needed. Essential Skills Bachelor's Degree in Plant Biology, Plant Breeding, Microbiology, or related field. At least 1 year of laboratory experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience or familiarity with tissue culture and sterile techniques. Knowledge of germplasm and agrobacterium-based corn transformation. in plant biology or related field. Experience growing plants and conducting plant research. Work Environment The position operates in a lab and controlled environment, requiring adherence to specific protocols and procedures. The work schedule may include occasional early mornings and late evenings from Monday to Friday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chesterfield, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
