The Sánchez Alvarado lab seeks a motivated candidate to support lab research on evolution and developmental plasticity. The selected candidate will work closely with lab members to conduct and document experiments, analyze data, and maintain fish colonies. The ideal candidate is motivated, creative, independent, curious, and able to work as part of a team.Minimum qualifications:
BS or MS in a relevant field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Genetics, Ecology, Microbiology, or related discipline). 3+ years of laboratory experience.Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on molecular biology experience (PCR, DNA/RNA purification, gel electrophoresis, etc.). Experience designing and carrying out independent experiments with rigorous record keeping Familiarity with genome/plasmid engineering tools (e.g., Benchling, SnapGene) Microscopy experience Embryology experience Experience with fish husbandry and fish embryo injections An excitement for biology and discovering new things!
