Job Description

We are looking for an Associate Scientist / Scientist who is genuinely interested in the science — someone who runs the experiments, digs into what the data is telling us, and comes back with the next idea worth chasing. What you will do Run and troubleshoot core lab assays — flow cytometry, qPCR, western blots, and immunoprecipitation Carry out molecular biology workflows like cloning, plasmid prep, and RNA prep Maintain cell cultures and prepare samples for analysis Interpret the data and design follow-on experiments Bring new ideas to the table and help decide what we try next Keep clear, careful records of what you run and what you find Keep the lab stocked and running, and work closely with the whole team What we are looking for A genuine interest in the science — the kind of person who wants to know why a result came out the way it did A degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related field, with real hands-on bench experience (an advanced degree is a plus) The ability to interpret your results and design the next experiment from them Someone organized, who keeps good records and works cleanly at the bench The drive to take real ownership in a small team Nice to have Comfort with flow cytometry and analyzing high-dimensional data Any work with oligonucleotides or RNA Any work with induced-proximity approaches Familiarity with genetic perturbations Time spent in a startup or a fast-moving lab The details Full-time and on-site at BioLabs Durham, 701 West Main Street Early-stage team, so you will have broad scope and a real hand in how things are done You will report directly to the founder
