The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in neurodiagnostic procedures, with a focus on intraoperative monitoring during spine surgeries. This role requires a strong foundation in neurocritical care, physiology, and medical terminology, along with the ability to work effectively within high-volume environments The CNIM Neurophysiologist will play a vital role in ensuring patient safety through precise monitoring of neural function, contributing to successful surgical outcomes and optimal patient care.
Scheduler:
Monday to Friday (No Nights-No Weekends, No Call Schedule)
Cases:
Elective Orthopedic Spine Cases Territory:
3 hospitals in Central New Jersey and 1 in
New York Holidays:
Off on all major holidays and considered paid holidays Duties Perform real-time intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring during neurosurgical and/or orthopedic spine.. Utilize advanced neurodiagnostic techniques including somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEPs), motor evoked potentials (MEPs), and electromyography (EMG) to detect changes in neural function. Interpret complex physiological data accurately and communicate findings promptly to the surgical team for immediate decision-making. Maintain comprehensive documentation of intraoperative monitoring activities, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and standards. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes during critical procedures. Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in neurophysiology and intraoperative monitoring. Demonstrate proficiency in anatomy knowledge, vital signs assessment, and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to neurocritical care. Provide support and training for new team members or interns, fostering a positive and educational environment. Qualifications Certification as a CNIM (Certified Neurophysiological Intraoperative Monitoring Technician) or equivalent credential is required. Extensive experience in monitoring different type of cases. Strong knowledge of physiology, neuroanatomy, and medical terminology related to neural function assessment. Demonstrated ability to monitor vital signs accurately and interpret physiological data within emergency medicine contexts. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams under stressful conditions. Ability to adapt quickly to fast-paced surgical environments while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
