Job Description:

Genesee Community College is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach BIO-104, Fundamentals of Cell Biology. This course Introduces basic chemistry, the structure, function, and biochemistry of cells, and the scientific method. Laboratory exercises develop skills including use of binocular microscopes and measuring. This is a preparatory course, for students with little or no recent experience in biology and chemistry, who plan on taking additional biology courses. Two class hours, two lab hours. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching and learning, adaptability, a positive attitude and a willingness to embrace technology. This person will strive to create and maintain personal connections with students and the college community. They must be a friendly, enthusiastic team player with a strong work ethic who contributes to Genesee's supportive community, dedicated to effective innovative strategies for student success. Must demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion as well as the ability to establish and maintain a positive learning environment. Incumbent must be mindful of and develop solutions that can accommodate all individuals to use GCC facilities without barriers, both digitally and physically.

Requirements:

Master's Degree in the subject area is required. Teaching experience in a community college is preferred. Incumbent will be required to instruct hybrid; both online and at the Batavia campus at the following time:

SALARY & CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

This is a part-time instructor position teaching a hybrid course both at the Batavia Campus and online. This position pays a rate of $825 per contact or credit hour.
