FullTime The Hoonkyo Suh Laboratory in the Department of Neurosciences at the Cleveland Clinic is seeking highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellows to join an innovative and collaborative research program focused on brain plasticity and neuropsychiatric disease. The Suh laboratory is dedicated to understanding the functional roles of hippocampal neurogenesis and neural circuits in both health and disease, with the goal of elucidating how hippocampal function and dysfunction contribute to human mental behaviors as well as neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders. Current research explores adult hippocampal neurogenesis, neural circuit connectivity and function, and neuro-immune interactions in the brain, with particular emphasis on mechanisms underlying cognitive deficits, depression, and anxiety, as well as neurological conditions including autism, epilepsy, and addiction. Insights gained from this work are expected to inform the development of novel therapeutic strategies to prevent, treat, and ultimately cure brain disorders. The successful candidate will investigate cell-cell interactions, circuit connectivity, and functional dynamics within hippocampal neural circuits. This position offers substantial intellectual independence, strong mentorship, and access to state-of-the-art resources within a world-class research environment. Candidates from a wide range of scientific backgrounds are encouraged to , including those with expertise or strong interest in molecular neuroscience, cellular and developmental neurobiology, genetics and epigenetics, and neural circuit or systems-level approaches. Applicants should hold a PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree in neuroscience or a related field and demonstrate strong research productivity, creativity, and motivation to pursue independent scientific inquiry in a collaborative setting. Salary will be commensurate with experience and in accordance with NIH postdoctoral stipend guidelines.
