This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, traveling to ranch properties, and assisting with hands-on conservation and land management projects. The Field Technician will work closely with wildlife biologists, land managers, and clients to support a variety of field operations. Position Summary The Field Technician assists with field data collection, habitat improvement projects, wildlife surveys, property inspections, and general land management activities. This role requires outdoor work in varying terrain and weather conditions and may involve travel to remote properties throughout Central Texas. Essential Responsibilities Assist with wildlife and habitat surveys on private and commercial properties. Support field data collection activities including vegetation monitoring, wildlife observations, camera surveys, and property assessments. Assist with habitat restoration and land improvement projects including fencing, brush management, tree planting, erosion control, and reseeding efforts. Operate and maintain field equipment, trucks, trailers, ATVs, UTVs, GPS units, and other tools safely. Install and maintain wildlife cameras, feeders, fencing, and field monitoring equipment. Assist with prescribed burn preparation and other land stewardship activities as needed. Maintain accurate field notes, records, photographs, and project documentation. Travel regularly to ranches and client properties throughout Central Texas and surrounding regions. Work safely and effectively in remote outdoor environments under varying weather conditions. Support project setup, cleanup, and general field operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Wildlife Biology, Natural Resources, Agriculture, Ecology, or related field preferred. Experience working outdoors, on ranches, or in wildlife, agricultural, or land management environments preferred. Ability to operate trucks, trailers, ATVs, UTVs, and basic field equipment. Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Physical Requirements Ability to walk long distances over uneven terrain. Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, rain, and rough terrain. Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely use hand tools and field equipment. Why Join Plateau?
