Preferred Qualifications Job Description Summary The University of South Alabama's department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering is seeking to hire a Research Technologist I. Interested candidates should to be considered. Essential Functions These are the job duties required of the position. Essential Functions Conductsplex and varied laboratory analyses and experiments requiring chemical knowledge. Performsplex physical and chemical analyses of laboratory samples. Prepares and characterizes specialized aqueous ionic amine solutions and related mixtures. Prepares CO2-loaded lean and rich samples and mixed-salt solution systems. Measures solution properties including viscosity, density, heat capacity, and concentration trends. Evaluates CO2-loading-dependent property changes in laboratory samples. Analyzes resulting data using quantitative and qualitative techniques. Prepares reports of findings as directed; work reviewed by PI for results obtained. Records physical and chemical changes during laboratory work. Consults with PI/project leader on procedures and evaluation of collected data. Assists PI in designing experimental protocols and training lower-level staff. Regular and prompt attendance. Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required. Related duties as required.
