An Environmental Stack Testing Technician at Slipstream provides excellent customer service in conducting emissions tests on natural gas engines in the oil and gas industry. You will excel in this position if you have the ability to recognize problems, walk through a methodical problem solving process, and have a passion for finishing what you start. You will be using specialized equipment in a mobile laboratory to demonstrate environmental compliance for our clients on natural gas engines in the midstream and upstream oil and gas business. This position can based out of Greeley, CO or nearby Front Range town requiring daily travel in the area and overnight travel roughly 50% of the year. We are looking to hire immediately and willing to train. Slipstream has made no layoffs related to Covid-19 or low oil and gas commodity prices. Slipstream was acquired in 2025 and now part of Alliance Technical Group.
Key Accountability:
Be Safe Conduct daily vehicle inspection Perform daily safety assessment Properly wear and use all required PPE Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe and responsible fashion Communicate well Professional internal and external communication is a must as you will be a face of Slipstream You will be working primarily independently, continuous communication allows for ready support and guidance Complete emissions testing on natural gas engines and turbines Use specialized laboratory equipment including FTIR Spectroscopy, paramagnetic oxygen analyzers, and portable analyzers to measure exhaust constituents Calibrate instrumentation according to ASTM, EPA, State, and manufacturer's recommendations and requirements Support clients with troubleshooting emissions compliance challenges Support customers with flexible scheduling and variable work hours Process and analyze emissions testing data Maintain your laboratory for operation Perform periodic maintenance on labs, generators, and computers Prepare mobile labs for extended test periods Complete expense reporting and time tracking tasks Handle various projects and duties, as assigned, to meet business needs Job Requirements Accountability to responsibilities Possess exceptional accuracy and attention to detail Must be punctual and flexible regarding work hours and shifts Willing to understand and read ASTM, EPA and State testing methods, requirements, and processes Ability to interact effectively with the Team, foster teamwork, and demonstrate professionalism Strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to follow schedules and instructions from Managers to work at the necessary pace to complete all daily tasks Maintain positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management Ambition to learn new processes and suggest process improvements Understand the importance of safety and adhere to company policies and procedures Ability to maintain equipment and keep a clean, safe and orderly workspace Willing to travel locally daily and for extended periods of time (at least 15% and up to 40%) Qualifications Preferred, 2-5 years of experience stack testing and/or natural gas compressor mechanic Preferred, Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Sciences Working knowledge of air-emission test methods Experience with air-emission sampling equipment Must have a valid driver's license acceptable driving record Compensation Full Time Work (Overtime is very common) Per Diem paid on travel days Vehicle and lodging expenses paid for while on the road
