Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Water/Sewer/Gas Technician I and become a vital part of maintaining and improving essential utility infrastructure. This entry-level role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in utility installation, repair, and maintenance across water, sewer, and gas systems. You will work alongside experienced professionals in a fast-paced environment, gaining hands-on experience with heavy equipment and construction techniques that keep communities safe and connected. Duties Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of water, sewer, and gas pipelines using various heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks. Operate construction machinery safely and efficiently while following all safety protocols and procedures. Read blueprints and construction plans to accurately locate underground utilities and ensure proper installation or repair. Perform utility locating using pipe lasers and other detection tools to identify existing underground infrastructure before excavation. Support concrete forming, finishing, and concrete-related tasks necessary for utility infrastructure projects. Conduct pipeline inspections and perform basic welding or plumbing tasks as needed to ensure system integrity. Assist with construction site setup, including trenching, backfilling, and site cleanup while adhering to project specifications. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in heavy equipment operation is preferred. Experience or familiarity with construction sites, pipeline work, or utility installation is a plus. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and front loader trucks safely. Knowledge of blueprint reading and basic construction techniques related to water/sewer/gas systems. Familiarity with pipe laser technology and underground utility locating methods. Willingness to learn new skills including concrete finishing, welding, plumbing, and oil & gas operations. Strong physical stamina with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Pay:
$14.00 - $18.15 per hour
