Chemical Technician
Job Title:

Non-Exempt Job Summary:
The Chemical Technician is primarily responsible for the safe unloading and storing of chemicals.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Education & Experience:
Must be at least 18 years of age to perform this job. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Weigh and/or measure quantities of varying types of chemicals
  • Build troughs
  • Grade buns and transfer to correct location
  • Mix ingredients in proper sequence and proportions
  • Ten mixing or compounding equipment and maintain control over time, heat, pressure, color, or other variables.
  • May perform blending, filtration, or other related operations.
  • Maintain batch time, weight, color, heat, production and/or other records as require
  • Observes gauges, meters, and panels to monitor operating conditions.
  • Maintains records to comply with
ISO 9000
requirements and standard operating procedures.
  • May operate forklift, cut-off saw, and other various hand tools such as air powered tools.
  • Makes certain that all areas are kept clean, especially containment in the event of a spill.
  • Ensure that the proper disposal of materials are completed.
  • Take inventory and assist in maintaining inventory levels.
Railcar Chemical Unloading:
(Specific Facilities Only)
  • Load and unload railcars.
  • Ensures site security to prevent vandalism to railcars.
  • Ensure that all areas outside are kept clean, especially containment in the event of a spill.
Education:
High School diploma or GED equivalent required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
